About The Program

The need to come to Nigeria and affect some people's lives crossed my mind in 2015.

Getting to Nigeria around January 2016, I stopped by Bishop Phillips Academy, Ibadan, Nigeria to share my vision with the then principal.
I got to know of a more pressing need for final year students who are unable to pay for their final year examinations.

The knowledge of this situation made me to start  "Project Help To Finish", knowing fully well that a smart student who is unable to pay and take this examination might loose a lifetime opportunity in future.

Since 2016 up to date payments had been made  for those students who were unable to pay and our plan is to continue and be able to pay for as many of the students as possible on yearly bases.

MY STORY

Ajoke Akinboro was born in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

She began her career with the Federal Ministry of Works in the nation's capital, Lagos, Nigeria as a Permanent Secretary's Administrative Clerk.

With a heart still yearning for teaching, Ajoke returned to Ibadan to further her training in education. She later received the National Certificate of Education from The Polytechnic Ibadan and an Associate Degree in Education from the renowned University of Ibadan.
With her teaching career in full swing, Ajoke worked for the Oyo State Government invarious teaching capacities for 16 years.

She later moved to Ogun State, Nigeria where she was the Head Teacher of lju Aga Day School before retiring in 1995.

After spending 4 years in Lagos, in 1995 she and her loving husband, Michael, along with their 3 children: Akintunde, Ajibola and Akinbobola moved to the United States. While adjusting in Texas, Ajoke became a licensed vocational nurse and worked in the health care field for 23 years.

In addition to having a successful career, Ajoke continued to fuel her passion for education.

For the past several years, she's taught Youth Sunday School at African Evangelical Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas and has no intentions of stopping any time soon.

Thanks to God's infinite mercy, Ajoke's family now includes her daughter-in-law Uju, son-in-law Uzo and six beautiful grandchildren. This project  is a fulfillment of Ajoke's desire to have impact on people's lives through vocational training to generations yet unborn by God's grace and mercy. Amen.

She dedicates this cause to her parents, (late) Alhaji Folarin Alabi Olorun Ero and Alhaja Wosilat Ayinke Olorun Ero.
